Tessa has been through so much in her life and has quite a story to tell. After being adopted out a few years ago by our rescue, she turned up on CraigsList this past year dumped by her new owners. A man got her but then tried to rehome her after a few months of failed farm animal herding. A dedicated rescue follower spotted Tessa up for adoption on another website and promptly contacted us. We went to investigate and sure enough it was Tessa.

We took her back into the rescue in December and it was clear that she was very sick. She was skinny and extremely lethargic. X-rays revealed a mass on her spleen which needed to be removed. Surgery and tests proved that the mass was simply a HUGE abscess and removing it plus her spleen was curative - a miracle truly by any meausre. 

Tessa is now fully healed and ready for her true forever home. She is probably the sweetest dog you'll ever meet - wouldn't hurt a fly. She is the definition of a gentle giant! Tessa has a very calm and mellow personality and is content just laying around all day.

She is a quiet girl who loves looking out the window and spending time outside. Tessa will also let you know when she needs to go outside and is crate trained (it's a big crate!). She sleeps quietly through the night.

Tessa gets along well with cats, dogs and kids. She is incredibly tolerant of active, young dogs.

Tessa is still underweight at around 60-70lbs and will probably be around 80-90lbs when up to a healthy body condition.  She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm negative and on monthly flea/heartworm preventative.
