BOCK IS A COURTESY POSTING, AND IS NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH A NEW LEASH ON LIFE RESCUE. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR HIS RESCUER'S CONTACT INFORMATION!

Bock is an happy, energetic, typical young Aussie that needs appropriate outlets to keep him happy!  He is about 1 year old and came into rescue after it was determined that the home he was in was not the ideal match for his needs; he has been in foster care since November learning to trust new people, learn manners and understand that life is good!  When Bock is unsure of a situation he will exhibit submissive behaviors such as excessive licking, jumping, rolling on his back...and if very stressed, submissive urination.  Bock is also sensitive to yelling & quick movements that he may view as threatening (quickly raised hands or quick movements towards him).  However, once he knows he is safe with an environment & people he is the sweetest dog!  He seeks attention, enjoys cuddling and is simply a love-bug!

Bock comes from a bloodline of farm-working dogs, so he definitely needs a home that will provide the right environment.  Bock is currently thriving in a foster home with another canine playmate that will wrestle & run with him in the yard, plenty of toys that he can play with & dissect, and even some dog-savvy cats that tolerate an occasional good-natured chase.

Bock is housetrained in his foster home's routine, but he will need to learn the rules in a new home.  He is crate trained & knows the basic commands come, sit, leave it, off, go lay down and also has wonderful food bowl manners.

Bock has been allowed on furniture in his foster home, which may be a training challenge in a new home.

Given the time & energy that Bock requires, it is suggested he go to a home with a fenced yard and no little kids, as he is still learning manners with humans.  It is also highly recommended that he receive Obedience Training that uses positive methods and perhaps gets active with a Canine Sport like Flyball or Agility...he is true to the breed in being focused, energetic, lots of fun and very smart!

Bock is 1 year old and is currently around 51lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and is heartworm negative.
