About Buddy | |

Buddy is an 9 year old Poodle who was rescued from a puppy-mill. Despite his rough start to life, Buddy is sweet and friendly and has learned how to walk on grass, was surprised at the voices that came out of the TV, and is scared of the vacuum, but absolutely loves people! He is learning how to go in and out of the door and learning to understand what steps are, none of which he experienced in his 6 yrs locked away in a kennel.
Buddy is a natural socialite and has made friends with every dog in his foster home... and that says a lot because he has a crabby cattle dog foster brother who is not all that accepting of other male dogs! Buddy is very laid back and is not very assertive, which is probably why all of his foster brothers and sisters love him. He makes friends easily, even with the cats. He loves to sit with the kids on the couch and play video games, but due to his being a little shy, kids over the toddler stage would probably be most comfortable for him.
Buddy loves going for rides in the car, walks well on leash and is housebroken. (Although he will have an accident if you miss his requests to go out!) He cries when crated, so his foster family shuts him in a bedroom when they're away and he does very well. He will sleep quietly on the bed until they get home!

Buddy is a small guy who only stands about 8 inches tall. His body is a little on the long side and he currently weighs 11lbs. He had to be shaved because his fur was so badly matted, but as it grows in and is groomed properly, he will look great! He is a sweet, friendly boy that has so much more to learn about the wonderful things life has to offer!
He is approx. 9 years old, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, all his bloodwork is within normal limits, he is heartworm negative and is currernt on monthly flea/heartworm preventative. Poor guy had one of the most severe cases of dental disease we've EVER seen... He had to have 13 teeth extracted during his dental cleaning! He is looking, smelling and feeling so much better since the procedure though!
**Buddy seems happiest and most comfortable in a home with other dogs, so we would prefer him to go to a forever family with another canine to keep him company. **
